MATAGA, MBERENGWA – A wave of excitement swept through Mataga Ward 18 yesterday as the Cross Borders for Economic Development (CBED) rolled out the Presidential Revolving Empowerment Fund, injecting fresh hope into grassroots communities in Mberengwa.

The landmark program, coordinated by President Mnangagwa’s Special Adviser, Dr. Paul Tungwarara, was spearheaded by CBED National Chairman Mr. David DJ Masomere. The event drew a massive turnout and was officiated by Member of Parliament Hon. Tasara Hungwe, the Guest of Honour.

The initiative is a practical expression of President Mnangagwa’s vision: “No one and no place shall be left behind.”

Representing Midlands Provincial Chairperson Miss Belinda Mashiri, CBED National Advisor Mrs. Charity Dick delivered a powerful address. She urged beneficiaries to treat the fund as an opportunity rather than a handout.

“This is not a gift it’s a chance. Let’s be fruitful, repay it, and keep the cycle alive,” she said, thanking God, President Mnangagwa, and Dr. Tungwarara for empowering informal traders.

DJ Masomere hailed the initiative as a lifeline for cross-border traders.

“This is about trust and inclusion. Beneficiaries will repay in manageable installments, and Dr. Tungwarara has even pledged to pay import duty for those financially constrained. This is a true lifeline,” he declared to loud applause.

He further pointed to the commissioning of 10 boreholes in Mberengwa as evidence of the President’s people-first leadership.

“This fund is not a donation; it must revolve. You borrow, you benefit, and you return it interest-free so others can benefit too. That’s how a nation grows through honesty, accountability, and unity,” Hon Hungwe emphasized.

He praised President Mnangagwa’s unwavering support for women, youth, war veterans, and grassroots organizations, calling him a leader who treats all citizens equally.

Beneficiary Mr. Tichaona Ephraim Dzvuke, CBED Secretary General for Shurugwi, expressed heartfelt gratitude.

“This initiative is life-changing. It empowers communities, promotes sustainable livelihoods, and gives us the dignity to support our families and contribute to national development.”

The event closed on a note of unity and determination, with both DJ Masomere and Hon. Hungwe reaffirming the President’s mantra.

Vision 2030 is achievable. Let’s support our President not just in words, but through action. Together, we will grow, and no one will be left behind.”
