The Chibuku Super Cup takes centre stage this Sunday as two sides with contrasting histories, seasoned campaigners Ngezi Platinum Stars and ambitious debutants Scottland, battle for a place in the quarter-finals.

At the Baobab Stadium, Ngezi Platinum Stars will be out to extend their remarkable cup pedigree when they take on an unpredictable Triangle side. Since lifting the trophy in their debut season in 2016, the Mhondoro-based outfit has become a fixture in the competition’s latter stages, reaching four finals in the past eight years. However, heartbreak has been a constant companion, with consecutive final defeats to Dynamos in 2023 and 2024 still fresh in memory.

Triangle, however, arrive in good form, unbeaten in their last five matches and buoyed by climbing out of the relegation zone. Their resilience sets the stage for a tense encounter in Mhondoro.

Meanwhile, in Mutare, all eyes will be on Sakubva Stadium where Scottland, in their maiden Chibuku campaign, look to continue their fairy-tale run against Green Fuel. The ambitious side has made no secret of their desire to secure a continental slot, either by winning the league or going all the way in the cup.

The last time the two teams met, in June, it ended in a thrilling 2-2 league draw, a result that only adds to the unpredictability of this knockout showdown.
