Masvingo – The Masvingo City Council has launched a month-long Men’s Mental Health Awareness campaign aimed at encouraging men to openly discuss mental health challenges and seek support when needed.
Sessions will be held daily at the Mucheke Clinic Tent from 1:00pm to 3:00pm, while special Wednesday engagements will take place at Mucheke Stadium from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.
Running from June 8 to June 30, the programme, dubbed “Mucheke Clinic Men-to-Men Mental Health Discussions,” seeks to create a safe and supportive platform where men can share experiences, learn from experts, and access counselling services.
Participants will have an opportunity to interact with mental health experts, counsellors, and male staff members from Mucheke Clinic, who will provide guidance on mental wellness, stress management, depression, and other issues affecting men.
The campaign is being held under the powerful messages: “It’s okay not to be okay, let’s talk about it” and “Every man has a story.”
Residents are encouraged to attend the discussions and join efforts to break the stigma surrounding mental health, fostering a healthier and more supportive community for men.
