KING MINE, MASVINGO – Smiles and gratitude filled the air today at King Mine Primary School (Ward 33B) as the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Hon. Ezra Chadzamira, who is also the Member of Parliament for Masvingo West Constituency, donated paint to refurbish the school’s infrastructure.
The donation, made through Masvingo District DCC Chairman and Councillor for Ward 33, Cde Tawanda Dube, was officially handed over at a colorful ceremony attended by school authorities, parents, community leaders, and traditional leadership.
Speaking on behalf of Hon. Chadzamira, Cde Dube emphasized the MP’s commitment to uplifting education standards in rural communities.
“Hon. Chadzamira is passionate about ensuring our children learn in a clean and conducive environment. This gesture is not just about paint; it’s about restoring dignity to our schools and investing in the future of our children,” he said.
Head of King Mine Primary, Mr. Innocent Madhumbu, could not hide his joy, describing the donation as timely and impactful.
“We are truly grateful to Hon. Chadzamira for this kind gesture. You are a true leader because you lead by example. Our classrooms will be brighter, and this will motivate both learners and teachers,” he said.
The school’s Deputy Head, Mrs. Rungano Begede, echoed the sentiments, noting that the refurbishment will boost morale among pupils.
“A fresh learning environment is a huge motivator. This shows that our leaders care about the welfare of our children,” she remarked.
The School Development Committee (SDC) Chairperson, Mr. Lloyd Kutsira, also praised the initiative, stressing its significance.
“This is more than just paint it’s a sign that our leaders are walking with us in shaping the future of our children. We urge more partnerships of this nature,” he said.
Adding her voice, Masvingo District Chairperson (Ward 33B) Mrs. Lydia Chimbari commended Hon. Chadzamira for prioritizing education in his constituency.
“This is a reflection of responsive leadership. When schools are well maintained, it instills pride in our children and inspires them to excel,” she said.
Traditional leader, Mambo Bere Charles Dzimba, applauded the MP for empowering the community through visible action.
“.A leader is measured by what he does for his people. Today, we have seen a clear demonstration of servant leadership,” he declared.
Parents who attended the handover expressed overwhelming appreciation, noting that the initiative will not only beautify the school but also create a more welcoming learning atmosphere for their children.
The ceremony concluded with a strong sense of unity, with the community pledging to safeguard the new facelift for the benefit of future generations.
