Masvingo — ZANU PF affiliates in Masvingo Province have received a major economic boost through the Presidential Empowerment Revolving Fund, with eight groups benefiting from a total of US$250,000. The initiative, unveiled at the Masvingo Show Grounds, marks a significant step in uplifting grassroots communities and advancing inclusive development.

The beneficiaries include Children of Veterans of the Liberation Struggle, Cross-borders for ED, Vapostori for ED, Vendors for ED, Hairdressers for ED, Boyz Dzamdhara, Nurses for ED, and Pastors for ED. Leaders of the groups expressed deep gratitude to President Emmerson Mnangagwa for his continued commitment to citizen empowerment.

“As Boys DzaMdhara for ED, we want to thank our President for giving us funds through the Presidential Empowerment Revolving Fund. This will go a long way in capacitating many of us who have been struggling to boost our small businesses,” said Mr Tafara Pande, the provincial chairperson.

Vapostori for ED national chairperson, Madzibaba Moses Gwasarira, also hailed the initiative. “Today is a great day for us as Vapostori and Mazion. We are going to use this money to upgrade our infrastructure and start small businesses. As we pray for the nation, we also need to feed our families. We say thank you to our President, Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa.”

Presidential Investments Advisor, Dr Paul Tungwarara, stressed the importance of accountability. “This funding is a revolving fund. We must ensure transparency in its use so that more people continue to benefit,” he said.

Masvingo Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Hon. Ezra Ruvai Chadzamira, announced that an audit committee would be established to track progress on the funded projects.

“As a province, we continue to benefit from government programmes that empower communities, and we expect beneficiaries to start meaningful projects,” he noted.

ZANU PF Masvingo Provincial Chairperson, Senator Robson Mavhenyengwa, praised President Mnangagwa’s leadership.

“Our President is fulfilling his promise of empowering communities. This funding will create jobs and transform lives,” he said.

The programme also recognized successful Village Business Units from Chivi North, which showcased projects in horticulture, poultry, and fisheries. Chivi North Legislator, Hon. Godfrey Mukungunugwa, emphasized that Village Business Units are proving to be a game changer in rural development.
